# Champion tracking

> Qualify a confirmed former-customer job change before a re-engagement decision.

[Human guide: work with your agent →](https://deepline.com/docs/human/plays/signal-champion-tracking.md)

> [!NOTE]
>
> Review a confirmed contact move in the context of the prior relationship and
> new account.

Use this page after a job change is confirmed for a former buyer, customer
champion, evaluator, or power user. It owns the re-engagement decision. [Job
changes and CRM cleanup](https://deepline.com/docs/plays/play-job-change-alerts.md) owns detecting the
move, preserving the evidence, and preparing CRM updates.

## Qualify the relationship first

Before drafting outreach, verify all of the following:

* The current employer and role, with a profile or other public source.
* The prior relationship and why this person was a champion or buyer.
* The new account's ICP fit, customer status, and active-deal status.
* The original owner, suppression state, and any negative customer history.

An employer mismatch alone is a lead, not proof of a move. Keep uncertain
matches in the review file.

## Choose the account action

| Confirmed situation | Safe next action |
| - | - |
| New ICP-fit logo | Route a reviewed personal draft to the original relationship owner. |
| Existing customer | Route the evidence to the account owner. do not start a new-logo sequence. |
| Active opportunity | Route to the existing deal owner. preserve the change as deal context. |
| Non-ICP company | Record the relationship for reference or take no campaign action. |
| Churned or negative history | Require manager review before any outreach. |

## Prepare the review file

```text theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
/deepline-gtm Review confirmed job changes for former champions in
closed-won-contacts.csv. For each person, preserve the current-role evidence,
prior relationship, new-account fit, account owner, and one proposed action.
Draft outreach only for approved ICP-fit new logos.
```

## Keep these fields and boundaries

Keep the previous company, relationship type, original owner, last interaction,
current-role evidence, and decision outcome. Your team should set scan cadence
and territory handling. those are operating policies, not facts a job-change
match can decide. A former champion at a non-ICP company can be retained as a
relationship record, but should not be added to a campaign by default.

## Verify this task

Check historical relationship evidence, current employment, new-account fit, ownership, and eligibility before drafting re-engagement.

Ask your agent to explain a failed check before repeating work or expanding the scope.
