# Notion: Patch Block Children

> Add content blocks such as paragraphs, headings or lists to a Notion page or block. Includes inputs, outputs, SDK V2 examples, and Deepline cost.

Add content blocks such as paragraphs, headings or lists to a Notion page or block.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Tool ID: `notion_patch_block_children`

## Run this action

Use the TypeScript SDK for one call. Use `ctx.tools.execute(...)` inside a Play for durable calls, scheduled calls, or CSV processing.

```ts theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
import { Deepline } from 'deepline';
const deepline = await Deepline.connect();
const result = await deepline.tools.execute(
  'notion_patch_block_children',
  {
    "block_id": "block_123",
    "children": [
      {
        "bookmark": {
          "url": "https://example.com"
        }
      }
    ]
  },
);
console.log(result.toolResponse.raw);
```

### CLI

```bash theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
deepline tools execute notion_patch_block_children --input '{
  "block_id": "block_123",
  "children": [
    {
      "bookmark": {
        "url": "https://example.com"
      }
    }
  ]
}' --json
```

## Example response

The SDK returns this shape at `result.toolResponse.raw`. The example values illustrate the response.

```json theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
{
  "data": {
    "type": "block",
    "block": {},
    "object": "list",
    "next_cursor": "cursor_123",
    "has_more": true,
    "results": [
      {
        "object": "block",
        "id": "123e4567-e89b-42d3-a456-426614174000"
      }
    ]
  }
}
```

Use `deepline describe notion_patch_block_children --json` for the latest machine-readable contract.
