# ScrapeCreators: Reddit Search

> Search Reddit posts by keyword with subreddit, author, score, and comment counts. Includes inputs, outputs, SDK V2 examples, and Deepline cost.

Search Reddit posts by keyword with subreddit, author, score, and comment counts.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Tool ID: `scrapecreators_reddit_search`

## Run this action

Use the TypeScript SDK for one call. Use `ctx.tools.execute(...)` inside a Play for durable calls, scheduled calls, or CSV processing.

```ts theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
import { Deepline } from 'deepline';
const deepline = await Deepline.connect();
const result = await deepline.tools.execute(
  'scrapecreators_reddit_search',
  {
    "query": "software companies hiring engineers"
  },
);
console.log(result.toolResponse.raw);
```

### CLI

```bash theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
deepline tools execute scrapecreators_reddit_search --input '{
  "query": "software companies hiring engineers"
}' --json
```

## Example response

The static output schema lacks the details for a reliable example. Use `deepline describe scrapecreators_reddit_search --json` for the complete live contract.

## Input reference

Searches across all of Reddit for posts matching a query. Each post includes title, author, selftext, subreddit, score, ups, upvote\_ratio, num\_comments, created\_utc, url, permalink, and is\_video. Supports sort (relevance, new, top, comment\_count), timeframe filtering, pagination via the after token, and a trim parameter for lighter responses.

| Name | Type | Required | Default | Details |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `payload.query` | `string` | Yes | — | Search query |
| `payload.sort` | `"relevance" \| "new" \| "top" \| "comment_count"` | No | — | Sort by Allowed: `relevance`, `new`, `top`, `comment_count`. |
| `payload.timeframe` | `"all" \| "day" \| "week" \| "month" \| "year"` | No | — | Timeframe Allowed: `all`, `day`, `week`, `month`, `year`. |
| `payload.after` | `string` | No | — | Used to paginate to next page |
| `payload.trim` | `boolean` | No | — | Set to true for a trimmed down version of the response |
| `payload.time` | `"all" \| "day" \| "week" \| "month" \| "year"` | No | — | Deprecated alias for ScrapeCreators timeframe. Prefer timeframe. Allowed: `all`, `day`, `week`, `month`, `year`. |
